"Staff at pool bar more than willing to share local secrets, you must go to the fish fry,
AKA Arawak Cay, we ate at Goldies, Candies and the Anchorage, all exceeded expectations...
missing the conch fritters already! Easy transportation, bus right out front, grab a daquiri for the
short ride, fresh fruit with rum only $6, bus 10 is the one for you, $1.25 per person each way
but they stop running at 7, a cab ride from downtown to hotel is around $20."
The Fish Fry (Arawak Cay) is a group of local eateries. Some favorites of mine are Goldies,
Twin Brothers and Seafood Haven. Just walk around and look at the menus to see what
suits you. It's very close to downtown Nassau and yes you can walk, but take the #10 bus
for $1.00 each way if you want to. The smaller version of the Junkanoo was held on Friday
and Saturday evenings, in June and July. Don't know if that is still the case, so maybe someone
else has some updated information. Lots of locals go there, so mingle and ask
questions, they are some wonderful, friendly, and helpful people.
